2nd Test of SPOILT carve skis 1/19/08

This test was much more enjoyable.  Rather than mushy '07 spring granular, the surface was firm, groomed packed powder on The Face at Suicide Six.  The SPOILTs still have the odd, heavily damped feel at slow speeds, but this time I was able to get them into the proper cruising zone and they were FUN!  In some wavy areas they damped nicely and the edges held firm even when I thought I might be going a bit too fast.  That's always a nice feeling.   For a full day of cruising and carving on groomed, challenging pitches, this is a great ski.  I wish it was a bit more versatile, but I'm happily sliding my rating up from an earlier 5 to an 8.
