New Eastern Ski Company! Volition Skis

Chris Bagley's Volition Skis in Bangor, Maine was conceived in 2009, and had its humble beginnings in a barn heated with a kerosene space heater to a whopping 40 degrees F as he pressed his first skis. Chris makes every effort to source his materials as locally as possible, with sustainability and low impact in mind, extending sourcing beyond New England only when absolutely necessary.

Bamboo cores with bioresin adhesives comprised primarily of pine sap and veg oil make the skis unique.  Chris's partner, Rachael Joyce, brings high-tech structures and composites expertise from the Advanced Structures & Composites Center in University of Maine. Very handy when considering ski construction options.

The initial launch of the public products includes the Driftwood powder ski (150-120-150) at $675 usd (with a wicked red-flannel topsheet graphic) and the Eastern-condition Knotty Wood at $475 usd.
